Abstract

In this paper a Biquad Filter called Universal Filter is designed for reducing power quality-based problems in power distribution systems. Increased use of solid-state power electronic based devices and loads requires shunt active power compensation techniques for mitigation. The Biquad Active Filter is a second order filter offering all four basic filters viz high pass, band pass, low pass, notch filter.
