PDM-Based Product Design Knowledge Integration

Abstract

To manage the knowledge of product development period efficiently, a PDM-based product design knowledge management model was proposed. According to the different characters of tacit knowledge and explicit knowledge, a design knowledge classification and related-representation method were introduced. The integration model between PDM and product design knowledge flow which is the key part of the design knowledge management was constructed. Some key technologies such as PDM-based knowledge navigation, and knowledge retrieval were discussed in detail.
