Abstract

The paper analyses the influence of the nonlinearity of the magnetic circuit (and, implicitly, the possibility of saturation) on the functional and performance characteristics of the permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM). The comparative analysis was performed between a PMSM anisotropic and linear, and a PMSM anisotropic and nonlinear, respectively, for the same control strategy, in the PSIM programming software. Based on the results obtained, at the end of the paper, conclusions were formulated for this class of motors and recommendations were done to mitigate the negative effects generated by the saturation of the magnetic circuit as a result of taking into account its nonlinearity.
