Abstract

Beam impurities have a variety of sources. Their elimination would require an extension of the beam line to allow for optical separation. This however, would also decrease the beam intensity. A Monte Carlo simulation study of four impurity sources, π↘μ+ν and Ko↘π+π− decays, scattering from vacuum boxes and windows, is discussed and suggestions for minimization of these effects are given.
