Abstract

Increase in the consumption of real-time and OTT content over cellular networks has driven the need for innovation to provide improved QoE to cellular subscribers. This paper describes how terrestrial broadcast and cellular technologies can complement each other, considering the changing patterns of bandwidth consumption. Several architectural concepts based on prior work in standardization forums and how they alleviate the problem of network loading with the incidence of the traffic patterns are presented.
