Abstract

For nongrazing incidence and only one periodic grating the system contains from one (single resonance) to two (double resonances) equations and may be solved in explicit form. After this one can obtain amplitudes of all non-resonance waves. In this report the general properties of the solution of the diffraction problem for the cases of single and double resonances are analyzed both for relief and impedance gratings. More detailed results for various cases of resonance diffraction are presented here and in other reports.
