Abstract
Digitalization of construction processes is a present prerequisite for the construction firms to be in competitive position in this segment globally. It is essential to use and continue in construction for optimizing project time, project cost and top quality in construction operations. Digitalization prospects are not bounded to optimize construction operation and processes but also covered to visualize real time project management and further to enhance use of (IoT) Internet of Things in construction. To take it forward as a general practice to use digitalization in construction, main risk factors should be identified and studied prior to implementation. From the extensive literature review and input taken from industry experience professional's fourteen risk factors are identified and further ranking are established using Fuzzy TOPSIS (Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) method. Loss of data privacy and security emerged as the biggest risk factor followed closely by improper user's skills and technical experiences. Deviation of policies, poor resource planning and business process change modality are other serious risk factors that slowdown the use of digitalization in construction. However this case study is aimed to focus the construction professionals regarding risk factor to use of digitalization concept in construction.
