Abstract
This paper briefly discusses the modeling and design of a Thermoelectric Generator(TEG),a semiconductor device, which converts the temperature difference to electromotive force(emf),based on the phenomenon called the Seebeck effect and hence it is also called as Seebeck generator. A study has been made about the performance analysis of Thermo electric Generator. We have also developed a Thermoelectric generator model with the help of Matlab/Simulink and studied its performance in a car exhaust for recovery of waste heat. The model is capable of recovering a good amount of electrical power from the exhaust waste heat.
