Abstract
This paper describes the development of an equivalent circuit model for air coil inductors in the DC-4 GHz frequency range which includes substrate-dependent characteristics. The presented model is applicable to microstrip-mounted components. Limitations of the model are discussed as well as characteristics intrinsic to the inductors that greatly influence model extraction.
