Remoções e lutas dos Kaingang no Norte do Rio Grande do Sul: a emancipação política indígena compreendida a partir da teoria do reconhecimento

Abstract

Historically, the violation of indigenous rights is practiced with the argument of an irremediable purpose for the achievement of national economic progress. The resistance of the native peoples to the oppression of the interests of the Brazilian State was answered for a certain period, mainly through territorial removals and exterminations. In this context, the present work aims to present some reflections on the Brazilian State's indigenous political actions in order to enable understandings / discussions around the recent conflicts over land and for recognition involving the Kaingang in the north of Rio Grande do Sul.
