Abstract

Radar is an electromagnetic device proposed to be employed for volumetric surveillance, detection, tracking and friend/foe identification of targets. A radome is essential to protect the radar against harsh environment. In this paper, a novel solution for improving the radar performance using dielectric lens as radome is described, discussed and implemented. The lens antenna enhances the key feature of Radar antenna like gain and angular resolution. The comparative advantage of using this concept instead of simple radome in the Radar application is also discussed in details.
