Abstract

The transition to remote work was a slow one for our campus. Our employees are unionized and our human resources department values hours in the office. Last year, our department piloted a program where employees could get permission to work from home on a sporadic basis. In March 2020, New York State’s mandated closing of our campus transformed all of our employees into remote workers. In this presentation, we will describe the hasty escalation to occasional work from home situations to fully remote teams.
