Abstract

This paper studies the practical stability of finite control set model predictive control applied to three-phase converters. For current control, the compact set of current control error is determined, according to the upper bound of the error associated with quantizing the output voltage vector. Then, by analyzing the existence of output voltage vectors that lead to the convergence of the current control error, the limitation of the current reference, that is, the practical stability limit, is quantified. The theoretical analysis result provides a reference to the parameter design of inverters. And experiments are presented to verify its effectiveness.
