Abstract
Nanostructured metal-oxides can be used to develop biosensors with high sensitivity and stability for the determination of biological molecules by electrochemical oxidation. The paper aims the detection of glucose molecule using FeTiO3/SiO2 matrix based sensors in air and evaluating the values of V-pH characteristics of the matrix for different concentration of glucose in blood. In this paper, FeTiO3/SiO2 matrix was fabricated by using bionanotechnology. FeTiO3/SiO2 was synthesized in the presence of electric field under biological cells influence by oxidizing FeTiO3. The Si ions were then linked to oxygen molecules of the FeTiO3 in presence of electrical field under biological cell to form FeTiO3/SiO2 matrix and used as biosensor. The matrix was used to detect glucose molecule in the blood. This detection of glucose molecule on the surface of biosensor was done by evaluating V-pH characteristics of the biosensor. It is a low cost sensor and can be used in medical industry. The high aspect ratio, surface area of FeTiO3/SiO2 thin film matrix showed excellent response towards the glucose molecule resulting in improved detection limit. The results of this biosensor show excellent sensitivity and rapid detection. This proposed strategy of biomolecule detection is thus a promising platform for the development of miniaturized device for biosensing applications.
