In the conditions of digitalization, insurance, along with government financial support, can become an effective tool for protecting small and medium-sized enterprises from risks and threats. The article studies the mechanisms of the influence of a number of factors on the development of insurance in the field of small and medium-sized entrepreneurship. Analysis of official statistics, content analysis of regulatory legal acts and expert opinions allowed to identify the negative effects of the influence of factors and develop recommendations for their neutralization.
