of work, an observation shared by the literature on French public hospitals, the objective is to reconstruct the logic underlying this intensification. The diagnosis of a Taylorization of care is then made without limiting it to the simple development of a Taylorian method of work organization. Taking Harry Braverman's analysis of Taylorism as a starting point, the intensification of work in hospitals can thus be understood as the concrete expression of the development of Taylorian principles of work force management - dissociation, separation and monopolization - which sets up a general logic of dispossession of the work force of the knowledge necessary for production.
