When the Time to Collision (TTC) and the Collision Avoidance Range (CAR) system calculated show that the vehicle is in danger of collision, the driver will be alerted via the voice and visual interface. In order to evaluate the safety and reliability of the warning system, several groups of field experiments were carried out to test the system performance, including the positioning accuracy of Differential GPS (DGPS), the communication quality of DSRC and the trigger of FCW system.
