However, efficiently retrieving and sharing digital objects in a shared data processing environment requires knowledge of application access patterns as well as the underlying network level distribution. As the number and size of data objects increases, optimizing data discovery and access among distributed partners on shared infrastructure emerges as an important challenge for infrastructure operators to maintain quality of service and user experience.
