In this paper, based on the study of the principles of air acoustic local discharge and phased array acoustic local discharge, an integrated high voltage cable partial discharge acoustic device based on air acoustic local discharge and phased array acoustic local discharge detection is developed. Through laboratory tests and field together with the application results of grounded transformer cable terminals, it is concluded that for the type of discharge along the surface of the cable terminal, the integrated partial discharge detection of air acoustic local discharge and phased array acoustic local discharge has higher sensitivity than the single phased array acoustic local discharge detection and infrared partial discharge detection.
