KAJIAN MOTIF RAGAM HIAS SULAMAN SUJI PADA PRODUK BAJU KURUNG DISENTRA INDUSTRI KOTA BUKITTINGGI

Abstract

This study aims to describe the shape of the suji embroidery motif, the decorative pattern of the suji embroidery, and the placement of the motif in the industrial center of the city of Bukittinggi. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with primary and secondary data sources. The research informants were the leader of Sulaman Putri Ayu, the leader of Sulaman Nova, the leader of Embroidery Bundo, and the leader of Sulaman Zahra and 6 craftsmen. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation using interview guides and observation guides. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study found that the motif forms were roses, jasmine flowers, orchid flowers, and hibiscus flowers. The decorative patterns used in the Suji clothes for clothes are embroidered with symmetrical decorative patterns and free decorative patterns. The placement of motifs on the clothes for clothes includes the placement of side motifs and the placement of free motifs.Keywords: Motif shape; Ornamental Pattern; Placement of motifs; Suji embroiderAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk  motif sulaman suji, pola hias sulaman suji, dan penempatan motif di sentra industri kota Bukittinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan sumber data primer dan sekunder, Informan penelitian yaitu pimpinan Sulaman Putri Ayu, pimpinan Sulaman Nova, pimpinan Sulaman Bundo, pimpinan Sulaman Zahra dan pengrajin berjumlah 6 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, obserasi, dan dokumentasi dengan menggunakan panduan wawancara dan panduan observasi. Teknik analisis data yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bentuk motif naturalis berbentuk bunga mawar, bunga melati, bunga anggrek, dan bunga kembang sepatu. Pola hias dan penempatan motif yang digunakan mengisi bidang segi empat dan bebas.Kata Kunci: Bentuk motif; Pola Hias; Penempatan motif; Sulaman suji
