Qualitative data are recovered from an open survey applied to 13 participants; fourth-year students and occupational therapist teachers who participated in the investigation “” Teaching role of the occupational therapist in higher education institutions in the metropolitan region of Chile. Four subcategories are obtained on the influence of the pandemic on the teaching role, adaptation behaviors, benefits of the pandemic on the teaching role and social dynamics in the university context during the pandemic. An over-demand of the teaching role is seen during the pandemic, making it difficult to fulfill academic objectives related to the development of basic skills for the profession.
