The common optical fiber network system architecture and the setup of passive optical network (PON), active optical network (AON), synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH), and reconfigurable optical add drop multiplexer (ROADM) are first introduced in details. The line inspection technique and online inspection process are further explained. The inspection data acquired from the experiment are provided for optical fiber network maintenance personnel solving users’ problems and maintenance.
