Abstract

A penta-band frequency bowtie antenna design is presented to operate at five different frequencies: 5 (WLAN), 5.7 (WLAN), 6.8, 8.65 and 11 GHz for mobile and wireless communications. The additional frequencies resulted from adding 3 metallic strips of different sizes to both sides of the aperture bowtie antenna. Two pairs of strips have the same dimensions while the other two strips are unequal and vary vertically. The simulation of the design was performed using HFSS software to obtain the reflection coefficients, radiation patterns, impedances and surface current distributions.
