Abstract

The importance of dielectric parameters measurements of grain crops and insects is discussed in this work. The dielectric parameters behavior defines parameters such as external electric field and frequency that are necessary for grain disinfestation by radiofrequency and microwave. The beneficial frequencies are defined especially in a range 80-100MHz when the dielectric loss factor of insects exceeds 7 times that of wheat. A mathematical model is applied to one individual seed of grain of ellipsoidal shape.
