Abstract

In this paper a rectangular microstrip antenna with four circular shorting columns has been studied for the improvement of co-polarized radiation (CR) to cross polarized radiation (XR) isolation in H plane. RT-Duroid substrate is used to designed the modified antenna. The circular shoring columns are deployed at the four corners of the patch on the substrate. The new structure provides 26.16 dB of CR-XR isolation in H plane. A co-polar gain of 8.46 dBi with stable radiation pattern has also been achieved.
