Abstract

A novel 77GHz flat-shoulder beam array antenna is proposed as the transmitting antenna for 77GHz automotive radar application. The array is composed of six linear series-fed patch arrays and a microstrip line feeding network. Simulated results show that flat-shoulder shaped radiation patterns in H-plane achieved by proposed array synthesis can meet the demands of both 77GHz long-range and medium-range automotive radar.
