This paper attempts to unveil the formation mechanism of the HLPR in Nanjing. It first provides the research background and then reviews the most important literature on this issue. Subsequently, this paper puts forward a conceptual framework which is mainly based on theory of space, power and resistance. After briefly introducing the general condition of HLPR in Nanjing, this paper analyzes the formation mechanism of HLPR in Xingwei Village, and the problems it caused. Abstract
The “Housing with Limited Property Rights (HLPR)” has become a very serious problem confronted within Chinese urban development.
