Deixis in Kole Variety: Its Conceptualization and Distribution

Abstract

This paper deals with the deixis distribution in Kole variety which is grouped under East Ometo language clusters. Since the issue of language cluster is an unsolved problem in Ometo language, we cannot conclude that it is an independent language or variety. The main objective of this study is to identify the conceptualization of deixis and its distribution in Kole. In this paper, five types of deixis were investigated. The deixis under investigation were subtypes. The methodology used to describe the language was elicitation and fieldwork interview based on the experience of the researcher in the language fieldwork.
