Abstract
In this paper, I analyze the meaning given by Certeau to "fiction" when he speaks about the work of historian ; then I confront this analysis with two possible examples of certalian fiction. This approach allows to clearly distinguish "fiction" from "literature", and to reflect on extensions concerning the historiographical work of the 17th-century literature.
