Abstract
The study is based on the corpus of texts of Russian classical prose of the 19th century. It is shown how by means of comparative statistical analysis it is possible to reveal the unique features of a writer’s individual style. The study focuses on the specific cases of the use of the word litso (face) in Anton Chekhov’s psychological prose.
