As bases sociológicas do pensamento de Léon Dehon e suas conexões com o constitucionalismo social

Abstract

ResumoLéon Dehon, fundador da Congregação dos sacerdotes do Sagrado Coração de Jesus, foi um importante personagem na propagação dos ideais da Doutrina Social da Igreja Católica e dos pressupostos da educação integral. Nesse sentido, suas ações como sacerdote refletiam sua profunda convicção na dignidade da natureza humana e nos direitos relacionados ao desenvolvimento holístico dos indivíduos, contribuindo, assim, para a propagação dos valores constitucionalistas de um Estado social centrado em princípios morais sólidos. Ademais, a obra de Dehon é tida como uma síntese sociológica dos elementos nevrálgicos que caracterizam o pensamento sociopolítico da Igreja Católica. Dessa forma, as obras sociais de Leon Dehon, amalgamadas com a sua filosofia, tipificaram o verdadeiro espírito da Doutrina Social do Papa Leão XIII. Em vista disso, o presente trabalho, a partir do método dedutivo, objetiva a elucidação das conexões existentes entre os ideais de Dehon e a mentalidade constitucionalista de defesa dos direitos sociais e do chamado “mínimo existencial”. Como conclusão, o artigo tratou de afirmar a filosofia de Dehon como uma das fundamentações axiológicas do constitucionalismo social, estabelecendo, por conseguinte, uma relação de afinidade do pensamento sociopolítico da Doutrina da Igreja Católica com uma cosmovisão jurídica de defesa da dignidade humana.Palavras-chave: Léon Dehon; Doutrina Social; Educação integral; Direitos sociais; Mínimo existencial. AbstractLéon Dehon, founder of the Congregation of priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, was an important character in the propagation of ideals of the Social Doctrine of the Catholic Church and the presuppositions of integral education. In this sense, his actions as a priest reflected his deep conviction in the dignity of human nature and in the rights related to the development of holistic value of individuals, thus contributing to the spread of the constitutionalist values of a social state centered on sound moral principles. Moreover, Dehon's work is seen as a sociological synthesis of the neuralgic elements that characterize the sociopolitical thinking of the Catholic Church. In this way, the social works of Leon Dehon amalgamated with his philosophy typified the true spirit of the Social Doctrine of Pope Leo XIII. In view of this, this work, based on the deductive method, aims to elucidate the existing connections between Dehon's ideals and the constitutionalist mentality of defense of social rights and the so-called “existential minimum”. In conclusion, the article tried to affirm Dehon's philosophy as one of the axiological foundations of social constitutionalism, establishing, therefore, a relationship of affinity of sociopolitical thought of the Doctrine of the Catholic Church with a legal worldview of defending human dignity.Keywords: Léon Dehon; Social Doctrine of the Catholic Church; Integral education; social rights; existential minimum.
