Abstract

The paper evaluates the electromagnetic field and the fluid flow generated in a system for simultaneously electric conduction heating and intense electromagnetic stirring of molten glasses. Two variants of molten glass driving through the action of Lorentz forces are studied based on 3D finite element models developed with two professional software, Flux3D and COMSOL.
