Abstract

Histological studies of the galled materials of Cucumis melo var. mamordica have been made to find out the alterations in the internal morphology due to the infection of Synchytrium. It was observed that both hyperplasia and hypertrophy were involved in gall formation. The cells of the gall tissue were found to be arranged in a palisade manner.
