The results showed (1) most directive speeches expressed by students were requestive speech acts; (2) three types of politeness strategies were used in doing the speech acts;baldly politeness strategy, positive politeness strategy and negative politeness strategy. Abstract
This study aims to describe the use of politeness strategy in directive speech act used in the communication act bystudents-lecturers of French Language Education Department.
