Abstract
We report our work on the implementation of a learning innovation based on the combination of peer-assessment and formative learning. The methodology consists on the students themselves to propose, review and select questions for the subsequent creation of a "multiple choice" exam to assess their progress. This learning innovation is carried out with a minimum intervention from the lecturer by using testing tools from the Sakai-based e-learning platform of our institution in combination with several software functions that have been created to automate the aggregation and processing of the students’ contributions. According to the feedback collected from the students, these learning tasks have helped them to keep up with the subject and to improve their performance.
