Benchmarking is a tool that, through comparative evaluation, allows to obtain knowledge about the quality of online education in another university and to identify the reasons why better results are obtained in this one in order to apply them in the university itself. The purpose of this article is to analyze comparatively some initiatives of this type of benchmarking, focusing on the criteria proposed to evaluate the quality of online university education and to establish which the most relevant criteria for this evaluation are. The bibliographic review is synthesized, which deals with the comparative analysis of some initiatives carried out by institutions from different countries: universities, accreditation organizations and online education associations. The results of the analysis show that to date benchmarking is not very frequently applied to evaluate and improve the quality of online university education. The criteria used during benchmarking allow evaluating the quality level of different areas of online education, strategic management, institutional context, technological infrastructure, student satisfaction, teacher, pedagogical aspects, as well as the design, development and results of the course delivered online.

This investigation compares two versions of the UTPL Open Campus six weeks course “Valorando la educación a distancia”. The purpose of these courses was to cover the main generalities, organization, and the educative process that involves in distance education learning. The course was developed through self-instructional and was designed with gamification activities like quizzes and challenges developed activities with peer review. At the end of the course, the participants completed a survey, which collects their perceptions about the methodology applied and the appreciation of the information and training given during the course. The outcomes of this investigation revealed that a high percentage of the participants consider that this course contributed to their personal development and help them realized the implications of a distance education system.

An educational experience is presented whose objective is to apply Mobile Learning as a didactic learning strategy mediated by wireless mobile devices, which empowers the educational process through gamification, where the student of a postgraduate program learns in a formal context in the middle of the game. A diagnosis is made, then through the systematization of experiences, it is possible to define, develop and implement the didactic strategy in a group of 33 graduate students. The outcomes achieved from evaluating the perception of students show that the changes in traditional teaching-learning didactic strategies for others mediated by Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are favorable to activating their learning, increase interest in the contents of the program, reduce disapproval and stimulate the teaching-learning process through gamification, learning through games but in a formal, non-playful context.

It is essential to consider the security and privacy (SYP) of information as part of the development of technological solutions and special attention when a large majority of people need to access the internet to carry out their daily activities. Despite the importance of SyP, this article shows that topics related to security and privacy are scarce in HCI courses and that only some universities offer specific courses that integrate usability and security. Additionally, information is presented on topics that the universities include in their courses to have a starting point that serves as a reference to integrate current courses and in this way teach those responsible for generating technological solutions on usable security.

The goal of the work explained in this paper consists of bringing both the students and the lecturers the methods used in the flipped classroom and the online classes, showing all the procedures used in making the videos of the subject Power Electronics. Firstly, the different frameworks used today for taking online classes: Skype, Google Meet (Hangouts), Zoom and Microsoft Teams, among others. After that, the hardware and software necessary for making a basic studio without losing functionality compared to something more professional will be shown to make good quality content. Once the studio is detailed, there will be a focus on showing how the YouTube platform works for sharing video classes, showing the different tools this platform provides. Finally, the content made in the form of a presentation using the Notion framework is shown. Notion lets people create a portfolio/webpage to show our work all together in only one link.

Significant numbers of adolescents use Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for learning, communication, and socialization. The study examines the literature about the digital citizenship conceptualization on adolescence. The literature review method was developed. Based on the results, we suggest that the main dimensions of digital citizenship in adolescence were identity, self-protection, participation, fluidity, and ethics. These findings emphasize that digital citizenship is a complex competence.
