Abstract
The paper describes the possibility of miniaturization of a directional coupler using artificial transmission lines. Using an example of a broadband coupler with an operating frequency of 1 GHz, it is shown that using such lines it was possible to reduce the device area by 70%. Compact couplers can be used in a variety of microwave applications in marine communication at sea.
