Abstract

In this paper, the characteristic mode theory (CMT) is applied to the analysis of the ultrawideband (UWB) antennas. The effect of each mode on the radiation of the antenna can be known by analyzing the modal weighting coefficients (MWC). Depending on the location and magnitude of the mode current, additional slots are introduced to block the current. An UWB antenna with three kinds of band-notched antenna is designed.
