Embarazo en la adolescencia y políticas de salud en Bahía Blanca, Argentina. Aportes a la discusión desde un enfoque etnográfico

Abstract

The purpose of this work is to characterize the meanings about pregnancy in adolescence from the perspective of young people between 15 and 19 years of age in the 17 de Agosto neighborhood, Bahía Blanca, as well as in health policies. It was a qualitative study with an ethnographic approach; and I imply the triangulation of primary and secondary information sources. I reviewed the health policy provisions on adolescent health and sexual and reproductive health. The ethnographic approach involved conducting semi-structured interviews with key interlocutors, and systematic observations with different degrees of participation. As a result, I point out some counterpoints between the devices of the adolescent health policy and the visions of young people. And I propose some reflections about the construction of teenage pregnancy as a problem and the impact of pregnancy on individual biographies.
