Abstract

In this article, a novel energy selective surface (ESS) working at Ku band is proposed and simulated, providing transient protection for high-power microwave through nonlinear transmission response. By virtue of the double-layer structure and properly selected PIN diode, the ESS proposed achieves binary modes, i.e., transmission and reflection modes.
