Abstract

With the rapid development of the global economy, the building fire prevention design must transform from the traditional “prescription” design to the scientific safety engineering design at the technical level, and the core of the transformation is fire risk assessment. In this paper, various building fire risk assessment methods were divided into three categories: qualitative methods, semi-quantitative methods and quantitative methods. By comparing different methods from the sphere of application, considerations, representation of results, subjectivity of results, advantages, disadvantages and so on. Finally, the conclusion of how to choose the building fire risk assessment method and next research orientation can be drawn.
