Automatic Extraction of a Health Indicator from Vibrational Data by Sparse Autoencoders 稀疏自编码器从振动数据中自动提取健康指示器

We present a method for automatically extracting a health indicator of an industrial component from a set of signals measured during operation. Differently from traditional feature extraction and selection methods, which are labor-intensive and based on expert knowledge, the method proposed is automatic and completely unsupervised. Run-to-failure data collected during the component life are fed to a Sparse AutoEncoder (SAE), and the various features extracted from the hidden layer are evaluated to identify those providing the most accurate quantification of the component degradation. The method is applied to a synthetic and a bearing vibration dataset. The results show that the developed SAE-based method is able to automatically extract an efficient health indicator.

Degradation Modeling of Digital Multimeter with Multiple-Performance Indices in Dynamic Marine Environment 动态海洋环境下多性能指标数字万用表的退化建模

Digital multimeter is used in marine environment to measure Direct Current Voltage (DCV), Direct Current (DC), Alternating Current Voltage (ACV), Alternating Current (AC) and Resistance (R) under different measuring ranges in the marine system. In addition, digital multimeter suffers three dynamic environmental stresses including temperature, relative humidity, and salinity. Aiming at improving prediction accuracy of digital multimeter reliability and residual lifetime, this paper focuses on degradation modeling and lifetime prediction of digital multimeter with multi-performance indices and in complex marine environment. The measurement errors of the five indices are used as the degradation signals to reflect the performance of the digital multimeter. A degradation model considering the effects of the three dynamic marine environmental stresses is proposed based on initial degradation measurement, degradation rate function and Wiener process to predict the cumulative distributions of the First Passage Time (FPT) of the five indices. Furthermore, the Copula function with the lowest AIC value is used to model the dependence structure among multiple performance indices. A case study based on measurement errors of digital multimeter and dynamic environment data for nine months is presented to illustrate the proposed method.

Semi-Markov Based Maintenance Decision for Production System 基于半马尔可夫的生产系统维修决策

In order to improve the capacity of production system, a maintenance decision method based on Semi-Markov Model was provided. Firstly the model for the production system was described. Then, the state probability and universal generating function were combined to analyze the reliability of the system. Based upon the imperfect maintenance decision model, a maintenance decision method combining imperfect preventive maintenance and imperfect repair maintenance was proposed, which ensured that the production system could obtain maximum production availability within the specified time. And a case was taken as an example to verify the effectiveness of the proposed model and the analysis method.
为了提高生产系统的能力,提出了一种基于半马尔可夫模型的维修决策方法。首先对生产系统的模型进行了描述。然后,结合状态概率和通用生成函数对系统的可靠性进行分析。在不完全维修决策模型的基础上,提出了不完全预防性维修与不完全修理性维修相结合的维修决策方法,保证了生产系统在规定时间内获得最大的生产可用性。并以一个算例验证了所提模型和分析方法的有效性。

Diagnosis of Safety Incidents for Cyber-Physical Systems: A UAV Example 网络物理系统安全事故诊断:以无人机为例

As capabilities of cyber-physical systems (CPS) increase, the interaction of software and physical components becomes more complicated. When a CPS encounters an incident, the increased complexity makes diagnosis a challenging task for traditional diagnostic approaches. To overcome this problem, we split the diagnostic procedure into three steps, namely: (1) type causality, (2) detection and (3) actual causality analyses. We then utilize various technologies to automate each step. Fault trees are extracted from the four variable model of a CPS. This results in modular and human-readable fault trees. Moreover, CPS logs are mapped to the instances of the fault tree nodes using time series analysis techniques. Through examples of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), we demonstrate that our framework can diagnose a wide range of scenarios including software, sensor, and actuator failures.

The Markov process and multiple beta factor (MBF) model are combined for creating the reliability and safety models of double 2-out-2-of-2 redundancy system with regard of the effects of multiple factors, including failure detection rate, common-cause failure and failure rate of each module, for evaluating the system reliability and safety. Based on the Morris screening method, a time-domain sensitivity analysis method that is based on a large amount of random data with equal probability is proposed to study the effect of each factor on the system reliability and safety. Finally, the system model is simulated in MATLAB. The simulation demonstrates that system reliability and safety gradually decrease and the effect of each factor on them increases over time; the reliability is most sensitive to the failure rate of the CPU module; the safety is most sensitive to the failure detection rate; the comparator and switch modules have important effects on the reliability and safety; the common cause failure has small effect on the reliability and safety.

Power System Design for Resilience and Flexibility Against Extreme Weather Events 针对极端天气事件的弹性和灵活性的电力系统设计

Recent challenges from severe weather events call for an adaptation in power systems planning methods, to ensure the sustainability of the resulting plans and the resilience of the power system against natural threats. Whereas studies have shown the importance of considering operational flexibility as an integral part of the design of power systems with a high share of renewable energy sources, very few works have incorporated the resilience against severe weather threats directly into the system design phase. We propose a comprehensive flexibility and resilience modeling and optimization framework for power systems planning considering extreme weather scenarios. A set of piece-wise linear models are developed to calculate the impact of extreme heat waves and drought events on the performance of the power generation units and on the system load. We propose a method to integrate the extreme climate impact within the power system planning model and investigate the results obtained compared to conventional planning methods under real future climate projections.

Intelligent Fault Diagnosis for Power Transformer Based on DGA Data Using Support Vector Machine (SVM) 基于DGA数据的支持向量机电力变压器智能故障诊断

Transformer is a crucial element in distributing electricity from power plant. Disturbance in transformer operation should be avoided. Dissolved gas analysis (DGA) has been known as one of the most effective tools to monitor the health of transformer. There are various methods in interpreting DGA manually, such as IEEE and IEC-based methods. However, those methods still require the human expertise. Fast and accurate fault diagnosis in the transformer remains a challenge. This study proposes an intelligent system to diagnose fault types in the transformer using data mining approach, i.e. support vector machine (SVM). SVM has been known for its robustness, good generalization ability and unique global optimum solutions. IEC TC10 databases are used as data to illustrate the performance of multistage support vector machine (SVM). The proposed system yields effective transformer fault diagnosis with high recognition rate, which is around 90%.

Reliability Analysis for High-Density PCA After Multiple BGA Reworks BGA多次返工后高密度PCA的可靠性分析

In ATE industry one high-speed, high-density PCA usually integrates multiple BGA packaged IC components. Reworking BGA components is a complicated process that also impacts PCA reliability. Privacy Thinging Applied to the Processing Cycle of Bank Cheques 应用于银行支票处理周期的隐私问题

Privacy policies and mechanisms should be assessed based on conceptual and flow analyses. The flow analysis includes studying flows through corporate procedure graphs and identifying specific personal data items. This paper describes a high-level abstracted approach to conceptualizing privacy aspects in banking processes. Furthermore, it proposes a conceptual model that can be used as a base for providing privacy analysis and describes organizations and their operational processes in the UML-style security specifications. The proposed model, named the Thinging Machine (TM) model, is built on the conception of the flow of things from one machine (e.g., a source) to another. We illustrate several advantages of TM by contrasting it with other diagrammatic representations. A case study in an actual bank is introduced to demonstrate the viability of TM.

Software Usability Challenges for Native Arab Users 本地阿拉伯用户面临的软件可用性挑战

This paper investigates the usability of Arabic Interfaces for native Arab speakers across different age groups. There is a lack of studies in the literature, which test the efficiency of current Arabic Interfaces and their adoption amongst Arab users. This research provides a detailed investigation of the factors that may affect the judgment of Arab users when using Arabic Interfaces. The research also strives to develop appropriate usability guidelines that can help designers to develop usable and attractive Arabic Interfaces. In this quantitative research, participants interacted with different Arabic Interfaces and then completed a questionnaire. The questionnaire used to collect perceptions and experiences of using Arabic Interfaces. Participants in this research were native Arab users of software interface in UAE. Findings show that most important usability factors is Ease of Understanding Factor, the second most important usability factors is Satisfaction then Ease of Navigation and finally Ease of Use factor. Moreover the research presented a set of recommendations to government, developers and industry to follow in order to enhance the use of Arabic language in software interface.
