Structural analysis revealed only garnet phase. The results have shown that Eu<sup>3+</sup> activated Ca<sub>3</sub>Ga<sub>2</sub>Ge<sub>3</sub>O<sub>12</sub> exhibit efficient red emitting due to the <sup>5</sup>D<sub>0</sub> → <sup>7</sup>F<sub>1,2,4</sub> transitions under 393 nm (<sup>7</sup>F<sub>0</sub> → <sup>5</sup>L<sub>6</sub> transition of Eu<sup>3+</sup>) or 250 nm (the broad O<sup>2-</sup>→Eu<sup>3+</sup> charge transfer band) excitations.
