Abstract

Based on the Kernel Function presented by R.W.Yeung, a program was developed in this paper to calculate the cushion wave-making pattern of an ACV in sideslip, and the induced wave resistance, side force, yawing moment and variation of craft attitude. The calculation results agree well with those of model test and full-scale ship in sideslip. On the other hand, calculation of cushion wave-making of an ACV in sideslip could be used to explain the special phenomena occurred in ACV, which different from traditional displacement ship. It is also helpful to understand the motion and response of an ACV after sideslip, and is benefit to update the maneuvering ability.
