Abstract
The chapter on Cyprus has a two-fold approach: a discussion of Greek and Turkish Cypriot films that belong to the category of the Cyprus Problem and are examples of transnationalism and/or of artistic exchanges between the two communities; and a critical account of Greek Cypriot films that challenge dominant representations of identity politics, are often European co-productions, and are set during (or are about) the financial crisis. In addition to recent artistic developments and transnational exchanges, this chapter also highlights the current progress in terms of state support for film production.
