Abstract

In order to estimate the critical electric field intensity of soil ionization, we consider relationship between the differential form of ohm's law and the moment when soil just begin to ionize. And then the critical electric field intensity of soil A which presented in Liew's literature was estimated by the relationship. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified by the soil A, yielding satisfactory agreement. The result show this method can help us to determine the critical electric field intensity Ec.
