Abstract

An implementation of an adapter that bridges the Wi-Fi network to a standard UART interface is shown in this paper. A network processor could be attached to any existing microcontroller and could expose any UART-based bootloader to the rest of the world. The motivation behind this research is the Internet-of-Things (IoT) trend and targets firmware development.
