Entre a detenção e o acolhimento: as consequências do estado de emergência permanente na Itália

Abstract

The article analyzes the system of confinement centers for foreigners in Italy and the intersection between the logic of detention and the humanitarian logic. The objective of the work is to show how the Italian immigration legislation, based for more than two decades on the security paradigm and the systematic declarations of the emergency, fostered several anomalies with regard to public policies of reception and detention, with serious consequences for people in its interior.
