Abstract

Recently, the use of mobile devices is a potential alternative as a pedagogical material in many learning contexts. In the English learning and teaching process, new technologies have been contributing for the language acquisition due to the fact that they are tools which students are familiar to. In this context, the aim of this article is to present a study which aims to analyze the use of digital story books, in comparison to the use of traditional stories books, in the learning process of English, observing aspects such as motivation and interest of students in using the tool and possibility of vocabulary acquisition. For this, two groups of an English institution in the city of Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil, participate in the research which will be conducted in a period of about one month. With the collected results of this study, we intend to present the contributions of the use of digital books to learn English and also identify the possibility of the use of this tool to stimulate and motivate students.
