Abstract

In this paper, we propose a binary amplitude-shift keying (BASK) wireless communication system based on a metasurface capable of joint modulation of amplitude and polarization. By modulating the spatial profile of the metasurface meta-atoms, we obtain different cross-polarized reflections from the metasurface that can be further dynamically tuned. As the exemplary demonstration, transmitted information is successfully recovered at the receiving terminal. Our proposed system may have further envisions in polarimetry detecting and imaging.
